Mia Maugé has been redefining beauty and challenging ageism since 2020. At 54, fed up of being ignored by brands, she made her private Instagram public to connect with midlife women. In 4 weeks, she was scouted by 4 modelling agencies, becoming the representation she once sought. Now a model, content creator, writer, speaker and positive ageing activist, Mia made history as Disney’s first Black, silver-haired, middle-aged mermaid in The Little Mermaid and as M&S’s first 50+ lingerie model. She’s written for Who What Wear, The Metro, Sheerluxe and HELLO!, and collaborated with L’Oréal Paris, Armani Beauty, YSL Beauty, COTY, Burberry, Soho House and Netflix – inspiring women to embrace midlife with confidence and joy, and proving beauty transcends age.
