Katie Fyfe reshaped her life and career in midlife to support her father when
he began showing signs of memory loss and was eventually diagnosed with
Alzheimer’s disease. She is the founder of Eldering and Dad & Dolly,
projects focused on making later life visible and better for all, encouraging
us to think about and navigate age-related challenges in more
proactive, imaginative and meaningful ways.
Prior to caring for her father, Katie had a long career in healthcare
communications, developing global campaigns and narratives for pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations.
Katie’s work sits at the intersection of ageing, care, creativity and
communication – exploring what it means to age and care well in a modern
society, and how greater intergenerational connection and
creativity could help us age better together.
