Meet the scientists, doctors, founders, practitioners and familiar faces shaping how we live longer.

Dr. Elliott Roy-Highley

Medical Director

Unbound

Dr Elliott Roy-Highley is Medical Director at Unbound, a venture-backed, London-based performance health company combining clinical biomarkers, physical performance testing, behavioural science, and community to help people better understand, improve and extend their peakspan.

As a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and Honorary Lecturer in Digital Health at UCL, Elliott shapes national policy on the safe and effective use of digital tools to support public health. Elliott was invited to serve on the UK Government’s 10-Year Health Plan vision working group for prevention, co-founded the AI & Digital Public Health Special Interest Group at the Faculty of Public Health, and co-led the Public Health AI suprainterest group at the Alan Turing Institute. He currently serves as a Guest Editor for Public Health‘s special issue on AI and Public Health.

Elliott’s research critically examines digital clinical quality. His published work exposed manipulative design in alcohol-industry-funded unit calculator apps, formulating the concept of alcohol ‘dark apps’. Elliott co-authored the first national studies of NHS digital clinical safety compliance, the AI readiness of the UK public health workforce, and the systematic review of environmental impact reporting for GenAI applications in healthcare.

At UCL, Elliott teaches Doctorate in Business Administration (Health) and MSc Digital Health & Entrepreneurship candidates how to build evidence-informed, commercially viable digital health products that deliver quality care.
